I have never been a woman who went after the man in a uniform - I've appreciated how they look in them and how they can accentuate assets, but after reading Marie Carnay & Alana Hart's A Trooper To Love, sign me up to the next parade!! Reading this short story, at less than 100 pages, I was more than capable of reading it in less than a day, I was taken through a rollercoaster of emotions ranging from laughter to arousal and even surprise as these two characters meet and try to deny their growing desire and feelings for one another. This is a first collaboration writing from Marie Carney that I've read and although the hot factor was through the roof, I still found myself wondering if I was reading the character or the authors. BUT let me tell you that I still had to reach for that hand held fan in the dead of the night to keep cool with I should have been freezing my buns off at the peak coldest time of the day! I've never had the pleasure of reading Alana Hart in the past, and maybe I was trying too hard to find out where she began and ended, and Marie Carney began, and the fact that I never did was a very good sign in my book since too often do you find that during collaborations, authors have complete different styles and it makes it difficult to follow. The chemistry that exists between Jake and Tabitha is so tangible, one that is well written, readers could swear it could be cut with a butter knife and they are green with envy as they'd wish their significant other would treat them, even for a few hours, with the same raw sensual passion. I've been a fangirl of Marie Carney's from the very beginning, but I find myself wondering if I should add Alana Hart as well - not because I don't think she's good enough, but because my growing list of favourite authors is beginning to look like Santa Claus' good list before Christmas!!

Second Chances

A Trooper to Love is a wonderful story about second chances.....for both characters. Tabitha Boone is a veterinarian who recently moved from Seattle to Pinetree, Alaska to get away from her cheating ex and the normal rat race. Jake Travers had his heart broken after marrying his high school sweetheart....she left him after one month of marriage. Jake's job of being an Alaska Wildlife Trooper was too much for her. Jake has sworn off dating until he meets Tabitha. He storms into her vet clinic with a wounded moose calf that had been shot. Tabitha does what she can for the calf since she just set up shop in Pinetree and doesn't have all the necessary equipment and Jake thanks her by taking her to dinner.
They both give off vibes that they are interested in each other only Jake doesn't do one night stands and Tabitha doesn't want to live the life of a nun. Eventually the two give into their desires, but walls of caution are put up. Add to this a little drama of a local who gives hunts to the big wigs living in the lower 48 states. Jake is sure that Dwayne Richards is doing things illegal but hasn't been able to prove it yet. Tabitha takes a stand against Dwayne which only causes trouble and herself in harm's way. The h/H are a fabulous match and so happy they get their HEA! This book is a sweet read with a great story line! Definitely a recommended read. Received a copy for an honest review.

Love a lady who goes after what she wants – in this case Trooper Jake!!

Tabitha is a veterinarian who leaves Seattle after purchasing a Vet clinic in Pinetree, Alaska to get a fresh start and recover from walking in on her fiancés’’ “lapse in judgement”. Officer Jake Travers hasn’t dated since April walked out on him – the details of why are not shared until later in the book, no spoilers here. These two meet when Jake finds a young moose shot by poachers and he brings it to the vet clinic. Jake is upset and abrupt, and as apology invites Tabitha to dinner.
Becky, the invaluable vet tech, who keeps the place running and can already read Tabitha’s mind, warns her that Jake does not date, ever. While Tabitha has sworn off relationships, she does not intend on becoming a nun. Mixed signals come from Jake as he says it is not a “date”, yet he insists on paying and walking her to her door. When she tells him to make up his mind he delivers a scorching kiss and drives away.
Tabitha and Jake work together to solve the poaching problem, and get closer than either intend. We are treated to a short, sweet, sexy read with poachers to catch and wildlife to save!
