One-Two Punch- A Joyfully Recommended Title

For nearly a month, Beth has been lusting after Mr. Lovely-Ass through the glass window of the gym she passes on her way to and from work. Beth finally works up the courage to approach him, under the pretense of wanting boxing lessons, and he is even more perfect up close.
When the blonde cutie enters his gym looking lost, Harry is more than happy to help her in anyway he can. Passion flares between Beth and Harry and things heat up instantly. Their relationship is growing nicely when Harry's old Army buddy Ky comes into town.
Ky has wanted Harry for years. He is ready to make his move but he didn't count on Beth. Life outside the Army is proving difficult to handle, even more so with his dream man seemingly out of reach.
As the trio struggle to work things out, an external force has its sights set on Beth.
Ms. Allen scored a knock-out with One-Two Punch. Beth and Harry were on fire for each other but it was Ky who I fell in love with immediately. Nothing gets to me like a tortured hero and Ky had that in spades. Beth was the perfect answer for both Ky and Harry. She knew exactly what each of her men needed and Beth delivered. Then when the time came, Ky and Harry took care of her.
One-Two Punch was filled with sizzling sex, angst and intrigue. I loved this story and I'm sure you will too so I am Joyfully Recommending it to you.

Smokin' hot is just the beginning in 'One-Two Punch'

With Breaking the Silence Katie Allen jumped to the top of my "must buy" list, and with 'One-Two Punch', she more than seals the deal. The writing is good, the plot is excellent, the romance is tender, and the sex is hot.
Where Katie Allen truly excels however, is in her ability to infuse her characters and writing with a sense of reality. I've been sitting here struggling with how to describe the extent of her talent. It's not that the plot is so true to life; let's face it, committed relationships between buff gym owners, beautiful former soldiers, and, well, how to describe Beth(?), aren't the everyday norm. The closest I can come is to compare it to a book I once read in which the main character, an author, infused so much detail and life into her primary characters that they came to life. (They ended up moving into her apartment and causing all kinds of trouble, but that's another story for another day.) Beth, Harry, and Ky really do jump off the page at you; and not only are they realistic, but they're people that you would want to know. Like Jenny and Will, (and who can forget Christian), from 'Breaking the Silence', the characters of 'One-Two Punch' would be welcome in my world. Of course, if I could be Beth or Jenny...
Rather than dealing with my bumbling attempt at description, buy 'One-Two Punch' and 'Breaking the Silence' and meet the characters yourself. You can never have too many friends.

Almost a four

What stood out most about this book was the likeable characters. You really cared about them and each had a distinct personality. The dialogue also rang true and was pretty funny at times. The mmf scenes weren't as fluid as some of the others I've read, but still entertaining. There is some drama to spice up the tale and that too added something extra. Overall, not too bad.
