This is an excellent book. It covers the basics very well and very clearly. You may not need an advanced book after this as the Internet and Google are quite sufficient. But this is a good book to get if you haven't got your mind wrapped around the basics.

Still very basic. I expected more elaboration. No chapter about handling image is a big minus for me. No chapter about how to create some basic effects with this API. Only useful for drawing basic stuff like bar chart.
